Embracing the feminine and masculine in us
by Stephane Leblanc
We had a gathering of Conscious Leaders in Montreal recently and we had a healthy discussion on the feminine and masculine present in each one of us. Everyone shared what represented the feminine and masculine for them.
For the feminine, some of the characteristics listed were: connection, community, compassion, nurturing, intuition, sensitivity, protection, creation, interior, listening, quality, beauty, harmony, emotions, polished and caring.
For the masculine, some of the characteristics listed were: courage, structure, exterior, action, vision, competition, performance, power, will, speed, agression, quantity, bold, speaking.
We had a healthy discussion on the feminine and masculine and we agreed that both men and women have both feminine and masculine characteristics in them and that to be whole, we need to embrace ourselves as we are.
It was interesting to see that of the men present a the gathering, many felt they had a stonger feminine side than masculine and they best friends were women.
My own experience has been that by embracing ourselves as we truly are and being fully authentic with ourselves and others, we open the possibility of buiding stronger relationships by alowing others to also be fully authentic.
As Conscious Leaders, we need both feminine and masculine characteristics to be effective in focusing on others and making a difference.
We need to be whole.
